Glossary

The words you will hear,
explained plainly.

Thirty terms that come up when you build with AI — each in a sentence or two, with a link where there is more to say.

Agent
An AI that takes several steps on its own — writing files, running commands, reading results — instead of answering once.
Artifact
A bundle of files and actions the model produces in one answer, which the builder applies to your project.
Context window
How much text a model can consider at once: your prompt, the conversation and the relevant code.
Dependency
A package your app uses, such as a charting library. Each one is code you did not write — check it.
Diff
The exact lines a change added and removed. Reviewing diffs is how developers check AI changes.
Effect
In Vantix, a ready-made animation or visual — aurora, globe, typewriter — that you add by typing @ and its name.
Export
Downloading your project as normal code you can open, host and change anywhere.
Fallback model
A second model a platform switches to when the first is busy or down, so builds keep working.
Grounding
Giving the model real information — your docs, your data, your components — so it does not have to guess.
Hallucination
When a model states or uses something that does not exist: a function, a package, a fact.
Hot reload
The preview updating the moment code changes, without restarting the app.
Iteration
One round of the loop: prompt, result, judgement. Good vibe coding is many small iterations.
LLM
Large language model — the kind of AI that reads and writes text and code.
MVP
Minimum viable product: the smallest version that tests whether people want it. See the MVP canvas.
Model provider
The company or system that runs the AI model a tool uses — and therefore receives your prompts.
On-premise
Software running on infrastructure you control rather than the vendor's cloud. See self-hosted vibe coding.
Preview
The live, running version of your app inside the builder.
Prompt
What you type to tell the model what you want. See the prompt library.
PWA
Progressive Web App — a website that can be installed like an app on a phone or computer.
RAG
Retrieval-augmented generation: looking up relevant documents and giving them to the model with the question.
Regression
Something that used to work and stopped after a change.
Repository
The folder of code and its history, usually in Git, on GitHub or GitLab.
Row-level security
Database rules that decide, per row, who may read or change it. Often the first thing missing in AI-built apps.
Slopsquatting
Registering package names that AI models hallucinate so that people install malware. See the security checklist.
Sovereign cloud
Cloud infrastructure operated under a chosen jurisdiction's law and control. See sovereign AI development.
System prompt
Instructions the platform gives the model before your prompt — its rules, stack and style.
Token
A chunk of text (roughly three-quarters of a word) that models read and write; costs and limits are counted in tokens.
Vibe coding
Building software by describing the outcome and steering by the running result. See what is vibe coding.
WebContainer
A technology that runs a Node.js environment inside your browser, so generated apps run without a server.
Workspace
A shared space where a team's projects, members and limits live together.
